We’re changing the way Florida accesses the legal system. Here are some ways you can help.
An investment in justice is an investment in your community. A recent study found that for every $1 spent on legal aid, $7 was returned to the community via economic impacts such as social security benefits, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements, savings in emergency shelter, foreclosure costs avoided, and costs associated with domestic violence were avoided.
“Civil legal aid helps ensure fairness in our justice system. But its benefits extend well beyond that. A large number of our citizens fall in the legal services gap. They just cannot afford a lawyer at today’s prices… when they have a good way to resolve their civil legal problems, they can remain important assets to their families, on their jobs, and in their communities.” — Florida Chief Justice Jorge Labarga
“Through innovation, we can maximize the tools that technology affords us to make legal information more readily available to all persons otherwise unable to afford an attorney. We can provide pro se litigants with greater access to the information and forms they need to navigate a complex judicial system, and recognize that there are multiple new forms of assistance for the millions of Americans who seek legal assistance, but who have been turned away for years for lack of funding.” — Hilarie Bass, American Bar Association
Your gift will go towards improving access to justice for all in your community and across the state.
